Impressionist Landscape Painting in Acrylic

This is an acrylic demo taken from a class in impressionist style painting. It is aimed at novice to intermediate painters in acrylic.

The aim of this exercise is to explore the concept of analagous colours and to create depth in the composition through different planes going back in space.

Here is an image of the first layers of colour and the finished painting. It gives you an idea of how the composition begins as a rough abstract and then transforms into a recognizable subject.
